Can the locks be remotely opened?

Our locks are designed to fail safely. By using Bluetooth, no hacking is available. The user will always have to physically go to the lock and wake it up to then open the shackle. That's also how our battery life is so long. There is no remote open option.

What happens if the battery drains while the lock is locked?

The mobile app will show you the battery level each time you use it and administrators can set alerts on low battery warnings so you’ll know when it is time to replace the battery.  However, if the battery does happen to die while the lock is in the locked position, you can “jump-start” your lock with an external battery. Battery replacement is part of the Access-as-a-Service fee offered by smartlox

Can the locks be used when “not in reception?”

The access control solution and locks can be unlocked without a network connection. This requires an offline key and an unlock command, these two values should be cached on the phone to be used at a later time. Nokē Smart Loto requires the user to have an internet connection when applying their personal lock on/off to the cloud.

Does every worker need a smart device?

No. Workers using the Nokē Smart Loto mobile application can share a device to allow another worker to add or remove their lockout. For smart access, FOBS or “one time codes” can be produced to unlock the lock.

What happens if I forget to remove my personal lockout and leave the site or my workplace?

Nokē Smart Loto allows for remote lock on/off meaning you can remove your personal lock using the app from anywhere in the world. The person on site with the correct permissions can then remove the physical lock as the last lockout of that isolation.

How secure is Nokē?

All smartlox solutions use Bluetooth 4.0 which contains the highest level of security. Bluetooth 4.0 LE uses 128-bit AES CCM encryption algorithm to ensure transmissions are encrypted and secure. In addition to standard Bluetooth encryption, the smartlox solutions employ the latest in PKI technology and use cryptographic key exchange protocol to keep your communications secure.

How ruggedised are the locks?

Our locks have been designed, built and tested to withstand tough environments and weather conditions. They are water-resistant, but not waterproof. Meaning, our locks will withstand rain and snow but not submersion in water. The heavy duty locks are IP67 rated and we have covers available to add further protection.
